Presenting the ODHA Provincial Link/October 17, 2011

My name is Anaida Deti and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. When I came to Canada 9 years ago, I decided on a dental career as I already had a dental background in Albania. I obtained a dental assisting diploma from CDI College in 2006. After working for a couple of years as a dental assistant, I decided to expand my dental career with a long distance education program and become a certified dental receptionist. I was still not satisfied and continued wanting to grow in my career, so in 2009 I graduated from the dental hygiene program from Oxford College of Arts, Business and Technology. Since then I have been very involved in the dental hygiene profession. I have worked in the private practice performing clinical duties and educating patients about their oral hygiene. I have worked educating doctors and their dental staff on how to use digital dental software and digital x-ray equipment. I have worked as an oral health educator as well for dental conventions.

I am an active member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, Ontario Dental Hygienists Association, and Toronto North Dental Hygienists Society. Since 2010 I have been elected as the ODHA Ambassador for Toronto North. I am in the Newsletter Advisory Committee for the Focus Magazine that is the ODHA published magazine.
As well I am the e-mail/phone coordinator for the Toronto North Dental Hygienists Society.

In short I am very dedicated to my profession and my patients. To that end I keep up with new technology, new products as well by continuing education courses. My future goals include completing the Bachelor of Science for Dental Hygiene and Restorative Dental Hygiene course.

Patients and their oral health are my primary concern and I give them the best possible treatment. My goal is to have every patient of mine smiling!

Please smile as the world will smile right back at you :)
